Listen - McClaren sacked! Barwick admits "We'll learn for next time!"
Speaking on the morning after the night before, FA Chief Brian Barwick, along with Premier League Chairman Sir Dave Richards, FA Chairman Geoff Thomson and FA board member/Man Utd Chief Executive David Gill, say the board was unanimous in its decision to sack Steve McClaren after a disastrous Euro 2008 Qualification campaign culminated in a 3-2 loss at the hands of Croatia, sending Russia through to the tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
But Barwick denied he should be culpable despite seemingly being the only man who wanted McClaren in the first place! But the FA Chief Executive says lessons have been learned and they will get the next appointment right.
