Zara Phillips hopes to compete in 2012

Zara Phillips has signed up with official sponsors Samsung as a brand ambassador for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The 2006 Sports Personality of the Year winner says she's delighted to be associated with such a reputable brand, and looks forward to working with them in the build up to next year's games.

The eventer says she's hopeful of even competing at the games, and admits it would be the pinnacle of her career should she fulfil her wishes.

Samsung are looking to involve as many people as possible in next year's event, and have hired Zara alongside David Beckham to promote ways in which the brand will help fans stay in touch with the Games.
