Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch says he's hoping to make the final 23-man squad for England ahead of the World Cup.

Currently in Fabio Capello's 30-man squad, the 6ft 7in striker is hoping his recent form for Spurs, which included the all important goal that clinched a Champions League spot for the North Londoner's, will show the manager he's capable of scoring vital goals.

Crouch has a phenomenal record for England, scoring 20 goals in just 37 appearances, including a header against Trinidad & Tobago at the last World Cup in Germany.

England return from their Austrian training camp ahead of a game against Mexico on Monday at Wembley, before returning back to Austria for more training and a final friendly against Japan, after which Capello will name his final squad.
