Arsenal face a problem in goal as Manuel Almunia is struggling to be fit with a finger injury, with Lukasz Fabianksi coming under-fire for his performance in the Champions League.

Sol Campbell, who scored his first goal for Arsenal in over 3½ years in midweek, is expected to continue in the centre of defence with William Gallas out.

Andrei Arshavin continues to miss out so Nicklas Bendtner is expected to continue up front on his own whilst Abou Diaby also has a knock and may miss out.

Sunderland will look to end an awful run of 12 league games without a win. In fact, their last success was against Arsenal when the two met at the Stadium of Light earlier in the season.

They're missing suspended pair David Meyler and Lee Cattermole, and have a number of injury concerns including Steed Malbranque who had to withdraw early from the draw at Portsmouth with a chest complaint. Anton Ferdinand, John Mensah and Kieran Richardson are also doubtful.
