Gerrard eyeing Croatia success
Steven Gerrard was pleased to be back for England as he played 45 minutes in the Nationwide International Friendly win over Slovenia at Wembley.
Having been injured for the first friendly of the season last month, the Liverpool skipper played the opening half in what turned out to be a much more difficult match than many had anticipated.
Frank Lampard opened the scoring on 31 minutes from the penalty spot after Wayne Rooney was dragged down in the box, and the in-form Jermaine Defoe made it five goals in his last three England appearances - all coming off the bench.
Next up is Croatia, where victory will ensure England make it to the World Cup next year and the 29-year old says the whole squad are looking forward to Wednesday's match.
