Hughes on transfers
Manchester City boss Mark Hughes says he hasn’t finished building his squad for this season, and he’s not giving up on the chase for Chelsea and England skipper John Terry.
Yesterday City completed the £25million signing of Carlos Tevez on a five-year contract, and today they are expected to wrap up a similar deal for Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Togo international has passed a medical, and is in Manchester to renew his work permit ahead of the move to Eastlands.
Hughes won’t end his squad revamp there though, and admits he still wants to add Terry to his defence:
“We think we could offer him a different challenge. When you’ve been with a club a long time, you get to a point when a change of scenery could reignite you.
“There may well be opportunities that will present themselves to sign more players, and there are areas of the team we still want to strengthen.”
