Ferguson praises Barca

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted the best team had won the Champions League Final after Barcelona put on a classy display to triumph 2-0.

United became the latest team to fail to achieve what no one in the modern era had yet done and retain the European Cup, with goals from Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi taking advantage of the English team's lacklustre defending.

"At the start of the game we did very well, and to lose a goal from a situation like that was a bad goal to lose. The better team won and there's nothing we can do about that now."
