Big Sam on Roque future

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has admitted Roque Santa Cruz is free to leave the club, should any team match the valuation in his contract.

The Paraguayan, who hasn't played since early March, has been linked all season to his former manager Mark Hughes at Manchester City, as well as a possible move to Arsenal.

Allardyce has recently criticised the striker for his continued efforts to engineer a move away from Ewood Park, last week telling a radio station back home "I would not mind moving on, if it was a big team and if the conditions were right".

I'd rather not have such an over-rated player *edited by admin!

It's transfer fees gone crazy! You cant buy an average squad player for much less than £5M these days. I agree, he isn't worth that money but as a Rovers fan I would say we NEED that much simply to afford a decent replacement.

We have enough injury prone players without adding RSC to the list. Why anyone would value him at anything like £18M beats me !!
