Manchester United look to have fallen behind Real Madrid in the race to sign Wigan star Luis Antonio Valencia.
The 23-year old has been in fantastic form for the Latics this season, and manager Steve Bruce is resigned to his top asset leaving the club this summer.
Real have reportedly lodged a bid of around £21million for the winger, who first arrived at the JJB Stadium on loan from Villarreal after an impressive World Cup in 2006.
United have been tracking the player for over a year, and now their willingness to buy him will be put to the test, with £21million thought to be well above their valuation.
