Tottenham Hotspur appear to have missed out on transfer target Diego Milito, with Inter Milan closing in on his signature.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is apparently keen to offload unsettled forward Roman Pavlyuchenko this summer, and it's thought Genoa hitman Milito was on his potential list of replacements.

However, Inter boss Jose Mourinho has revealed his title-winning club are in talks with Genoa about a deal for Milito, and the signing could be wrapped up in the next few days.
