Only two goals conceded all season prior to this match saw Liverpool come up against mega-rich Man City who boasted the most prolific attack so far in the Premier League.

After Stephen Ireland had put the home side up it was the turn of Javi Garrido to score his first for City to put them firmly in the ascendancy.

But Fernando Torres, who else, got Liverpool back in the game with a double strike sandwiching a red card for City full back Pablo Zabaleta.

An injury to Martin Skrtel saw the game finish with 10 each as Liverpool made all their subs early, and Dirk Kuyt was on hand to slam home the winner two minutes in to injury time.

The manner of the comeback, in a fantastic Premier League spectacle, delighted Rafa Benitez and the Liverpool boss paid tribute to Dirk Kuyt, who's unselfishness for the team cause saw him score only his first league goal of the season.
