Listen - Man Utd 2-0 Bolton - Megson fumes at penalty call
MAN UTD 2-0 BOLTON
Old Trafford is never an easy place to go at the best of times, not least for Bolton who are winless since the opening day of the season. Record summer signing Johan Elmander was back in the team after injury and the visitors put up an impressive defensive display which frustrated the Champions, who themselves have made an indifferent start to their campaign.
But on the hour the face of the game changed completely as a seemingly well timed Jloyd Samuel challenge on Cristiano Ronaldo saw referee Rob Styles amazingly point to the spot. It's not the first time the referee has come under scrutiny - he was the man who awarded Chelsea a spot kick at Anfield last season and one to Liverpool at Sheffield United the season before, despite no contact being made.
The Portuguese winger scored the resulting kick before Wayne Rooney curled in a superb second, but there was only one thing on the mind of Gary Megson after the game - that penalty decision. The Trotters boss felt aggrieved and dismissed the decision as a complete and utter 'nonsense.'
