A new dawn of a new era for West Ham United after Gianfranco Zola's reign began with victory at Upton Park in front of the home faithful.
A double salvo from David Di Michele got his scoring in England off to a flying start, before Matthew Etherington scored a third.
The performance pleased Zola, up until the 70th minute when Michael Owen was allowed to net a consolation goal. Nevertheless, the Italian says he's happy with the start and paid tribute to the fans for their warm welcome.
