Listen - Liverpool v Man Utd - Berbatov delighted to be at United
Listen - BERBATOV & FERGUSON PRESS CONFERENCE
In a joint press conference after the international break, Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson said he was pleased to finally resolve the issues surrounding Dimitar Berbatov's protracted transfer this summer. It has always been widely expected that the Bulgarian would end up at Old Trafford ever since last season finished. But it took a dramatic final day of the transfer window before United got their man for £30,750,000.
It would have been a British transfer record had rivals City not ploughed £32.5m to get Robinho, but the price is of no concern to the Bulgarian international, who scored 46 goals in two seasons at White Hart Lane.
Now that the international break is over, it's a massive match for the 27-year old to come into as his new team make the short trip to Anfield. And how apt it is that Berbatov comes up against his old striker partner Robbie Keane, still searching for his first goal since a £20m move this summer.
