Listen - Man City v Chelsea - Scolari understands Clarke leaving
Listen - LUIZ FELIPE SCOLARI PRESS CONFERENCE
Following the appointment of ex-Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola as manager of West Ham United, it seems as if former Chelsea number two Steve Clarke will join the Italian at the Boleyn Ground.
Clarke has had an illustrious Chelsea career, having spent 11 years playing for the club before moving on to coaching, where he was briefly caretaker manager of Newcastle United. He found himself back at Stamford Bridge as youth team coach before Jose Mourinho made him his assistant. But since the charismatic Mourinho departed, the former Scotland international has found himself demoted despite Luiz Felipe Scolari's decision to retain his services.
Now with the position of assistant available across London, Scolari says he fully accepts why the Stamford Bridge stalwart wants to leave but admits he'd rather he stayed.
