A glorious night for England as the ghosts of the ill-fated Euro 2008 qualifiers were well and truly buried.

Theo Walcott proved the hero as he answered critics by banging in a splendid hat-trick, whilst Wayne Rooney's goal should be enough to silence questions about his international pedigree. Rooney was at the heart of it all, setting up all 3 of Walcott's goals but the night belonged to the young Arsenal star.

The 19 year old says he's delighted to finally take his chance with such style and leave England top of their group ahead of next month's qualifier against Belarus.
