The road to the 2010 World Cup started with a win for England despite a frustrating night overall for the watching faithful.

For the second consecutive time against the minnows, England found themselves goalless at half time. But within 3 minutes of the re-start the pressure was relieved as Joe Cole smashed home a volley and on 55 minutes managed to poke the ball under the Andorran keeper to secure victory.

Fabio Capello, speaking after the match, said he was happy to get off to a winning start but gave little away on his plans for the match against Croatia and whether his two goal saviour did enough to replace Stewart Downing in the starting line up.
