Listen - Liverpool - Riera delighted to join

Despite a hectic deadline day in the Premier League, Liverpool's only first team activity was the loaning out of Andriy Voronin to Hertha Berlin and putting the finishing touches to Albert Riera's move from Espanyol, with Steve Finnan ending his 5 year stay at Anfield in return.

The move cost £8m for Riera, a Spanish left winger who failed to perform consistently in his last spell in English football. The 26-year old joined Manchester City in January 2006 on a half season loan deal, before returning to his club after failing to impress in a struggling City side.

But he insists he's now better for the experience, having played in a UEFA Cup Final and appearing for the Spanish national team since his stint at Eastlands.

He also says he's absolutely thrilled to join such a big club.
