A tremendous start to Luiz Felipe Scolari's reign at Stamford Bridge as his side thumped FA Cup holders Portsmouth in their opening game of the season.

Joe Cole started the scoring early before Nicolas Anelka made it two. Frank Lampard made it 3 on the stroke of half time from the penalty spot before new boy Deco rounded off an impressive display from the 2nd favourites for the Premier League title.

Speaking after the match, the Brazilian said he was happy with how his new midfielder has settled in as well as Portuguese right back Jose Bosingwa - but overall was delighted with how his team kicked off the new season.
