Listen - Wigan 0-2 Man Utd - 'Ten' up for Fergie!

Listen to Sir Alex Ferguson's post-Title winning interview!

Well what a title race we had in the end! A month ago and some bookies were already paying out on Manchester United as Champions but their recent defeat to closest rivals Chelsea cast doubt over their credentials of securing back to back title wins.

Superior goal difference gave United the edge as both they and Avram Grant's men went into the final day of the season level on points. A scrappy first half ensued as the visitors, with a substantial number of supporters inside the home fan sections seemed to get away with a penalty claim by Wigan after Rio Ferdinand looked like he handled inside the box. The protests were waved away, which caused old-United boy Steve Bruce to call the referee's performance 'horrific' after the game.

But Wayne Rooney was upended inside Wigan's penalty area and Cristiano Ronaldo's calmly taken spot kick set them on their way. United survived a few scares including Emile Heskey's header which flew inches over the bar before Ryan Giggs capped his record-breaking appearance to score the second and record title number 10 for Sir Alex Ferguson.

Speaking after the match, Fergie is already looking forward to Moscow and believes his side have the momentum to secure a double of sorts by beating Chelsea to the Champions League trophy.
