Listen - Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool - Poyet: "Lessons need to be learned"

Listen to Gus Poyet's post-Liverpool interview!

A disappointing result to round off a disappointing league season for Spurs as Liverpool won 2-0 at White Hart Lane through goals from Andriy Voronin and Fernando Torres.

It was a lacklustre performance from the team, who's form tailed off ever since their exit in the UEFA Cup just 17 days after winning the League Cup. Furthermore, their failure to score meant Pepe Reina was the first Premier League goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet in N17 this season - and he had to earn it on a couple of occasions as he tipped wide from a Dimitar Berbatov header before the Bulgarian's exquisite volley in the second half had the Spanish keeper scampering to touch over.

Tottenham's assistant coach Gus Poyet admitted after the game his side need the experience shown by the visitors and refutes claims that star striker Berbatov is on his way out.

A mass clear out is expected at White Hart Lane over the summer, with Luka Modric's transfer a clear sign of intent to get back to the top 5 of the league.
