Second half strikes from Andriy Voronin and Fernando Torres ensured Liverpool ended their season on a high as they eased to a 2-0 win over a poor Spurs side.

In all Rafa Benitez's time at Anfield, this was the first season where the last game of the league season signalled Liverpool's last game completely. For two out of the three previous seasons he's had Champions League finals to worry about and sandwiched in between was an FA Cup Final in 2006.

So all in all it was an assured performance from the visitors who eventually took the lead with 20 minutes to go and doubled it five minutes later. Once the goals flew in it could have been another couple at least but Benitez won't mind.

Fernando Torres set a new record as well - he beat Ruud Van Nistelrooy's 23 league goals in his first season in the Premier League by netting goal number 24 (and 33 in all competitions) to claim the title of most successful foreign player in his debut season in England.

Benitez was full of praise for his Spanish sensation.
