Listen - Tottenham 1-4 Newcastle Utd - Poyet says sorry to Spurs fans
An evidently furious Gus Poyet braved the microphones after the 1-4 home thrashing to Newcastle United.
Poyet believed his side were just poor throughout but won't hide behind excuses that the points were meaningless for them in the grand scheme of things.
Paul Robinson continued his goal a game record of being at fault for at least one goal a game with arguably two clangers, the first was just watching Nicky Butt's slow bobbling shot nestle in his far corner on the stroke of half time after Darren Bent had opened the scoring. The second was a scene all too familiar to fans as Robinson lined up his wall and ended up standing behind it as Geremi's half hit free kick went in at the exact point where the supposed England keeper started.
Michael Owen scored his third in three matches before Obafemi Martins broke to stroke home the fourth.
An emphatic loss to Newcastle means Spurs cannot wait for May to come around and go on their holidays.
