Listen - Man Utd 4-0 Aston Villa - O'Neill accepts defeat
Listen now to Martin O'Neill's post-Man United interview
If 4-0 is an emphatic scoreline showing a one-sided encounter, then this certainly doesn't fit into that category.
Few can argue that Man United were worthy winners at Old Trafford, with Cristiano Ronaldo opening the scoring with an outrageous flick and setting up the other 3, but a depleted Aston Villa weren't just lambs to the slaughter.
Shaun Maloney should have pulled one back when he somehow steered wide when one on one with the visitors' best chance but in appalling weather they had no answer to United, who have now fired in 10 goals without conceding in their last four Premier League matches.
Speaking after the game, Villa boss Martin O'Neill said he had no complaints over the result, admitting his side were beaten by a 'class act' on the top of their game.
