Listen - Friendly: France v England - Rio fulfils childhood dream
Listen now to Rio Ferdinand's press conference
"It's a childhood dream" - that's according to Rio Ferdinand after the 29-year old was named England captain for the first time in his career.
The Manchester United defender has made 65 appearances so far in an international career spanning 11-years but faces the ultimate honour after Fabio Capello named him captain for the friendly versus France.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference in Paris, the new skipper, if only for one day, said it's the ultimate honour to lead his country out and is relishing a difficult evening against Raymond Domenech's side.
