It seemed to be, for a little while, as if Spurs could cap off the perfect week with a victory at Old Trafford in the FA Cup.

Robbie Keane slid home Aaron Lennon's cross to give the visitors the lead, with confidence high after their demolition of Arsenal in midweek. Alas two errors from Michael Dawson led to two goals, with the second resulting in Spurs fighting out the last 23 minutes with ten men. A further error, this time by Radek Cerny, allowed Ronaldo to score his second of the game and end a valiant effort by the North London team, who created more chances than most visiting sides will at the Theatre of Dreams.

Assistant coach Gus Poyet though believed the side need to become more clinical after yet another game where they should have scored more passed them by.
