Listen - Reading 0-2 Man Utd - Rooney joy at 'toughest match of the season' win
Man United striker Wayne Rooney says he's relieved and thrilled to finally see off Reading at the Madejski Stadium.
The two teams met on the opening day of the season, with the Royals frustrating the Champions over the 90 minutes at Old Trafford to cling on for a point. It seemed the same would happen again, albeit in a more attacking display from Steve Coppell's men.
It seemed that only a moment of magic would open the game up and with just 13 minutes remaining Rooney provided it with a deft flick to finish off a cross. Reading still had their chances at the end, with James Harper missing a good chance from the edge of the box before Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 23rd goal of the season in all competitions.
And Rooney, being watched by England boss Fabio Capello, says the home team can make it difficult for every team.
