It's the story that gripped the heart of the sporting nation. Alhassan 'Sam' Bangura, the man born in Sierra Leone but a member of Watford's team for the past 3 seasons looked on the verge of having his dreams dashed after a decision was made to deport him back to his native homeland after having his work permit application refused.

A massive petition backed the young midfielder, backed by Watford and Plymouth fans on the pitch and thousands more off it. And it finally paid dividends as an appeals committee reviewed his case and found in favour of the newly-wed father.
